Legacy Giving

BSVI relies on the support of caring people to continue its valuable work with the visually impaired people in Bournemouth and the surrounding area. By leaving a legacy to BSVI you will help us to continue to develop and maintain our services in the future.

To ensure your Will is made properly BSVI recommends that you use the services of a Solicitor. Making a Will is not as expensive or complex as you may think and a Solicitor can advise you on legal matters and provide you with relevant inheritance tax advice.

If you already have a Will and wish to leave a donation to BSVI, it may only be necessary to add a codicial to your existing Will rather than make out a completely new Will.

There are several different ways to donate to BSVI in your Will:

• Residual donation - by leaving a percentage of the residue of your estate after all the dependents have been provided for;

• Pecuniary Donation - by leaving a specific sum of money which can be index linked, if desired, to preserve its value;

• Specific Donation - by leaving a specific part or all of your estate to BSVI

• Contingent Donation - by leaving a gift in your Will that depends upon the occurrence of an event which may or may not happen, eg a donation which applies only if other beneficiaries named in the Will die before the person making the Will.
