Charity Regd No. 1114570

Founded in 1911, BSVI is arguably the longest established charity in Bournemouth. BSVI is independently funded and conducted on non-political, non sectarian principles and is available to visually impaired people of all ages who are registered as blind, or partially sighted and living within the Bournemouth area.

As part of the Bournemouth partnership, BSVI seeks co-operatively with other local organisations at all levels to provide an all round service that best meets the needs of the visually impaired.

The Bournemouth Society for The Visually Impaired is uniquely equipped to expertly serve the needs of local blind and partially sighted people. Because we are based locally, any money raised goes directly to the society enabling us to provide an effective and vital service for the visually impaired.

Membership is free to all people of all ages registered as blind or partially sighted and living within the Bournemouth Borough.

We host a daily activity programme packed with social events and activities specifically catering for the needs of our members.

Subsidised transport is available to and from the centre plus a home visiting and befriending service.

For further information and details about our full range of services, contact us
