Floating Support
BSVI provides a Floating Support service for people with a significant visual impairment living in the Bournemouth area. Our Mission is is to provide support which helps visually impaired people increase their independence and fulfil their potential.
What is Floating Support?
Supporting People is a government funded programme that aims to improve the type and quality of services provided to vulnerable people. BSVI's Floating Support is designed to assist visually impaired people to remain living independently within the community.
BSVI will accept self referrals and referrals from any recognised source, eg GP's, Consultants, all Care Services and Clinics. The Support Worker will arrange to visit for an initial review/assessment where the persons needs are determined and goals are set. Clients can be seen by their Support Worker for a period of up to two years and should receive a minimum of one visit every fortnight until their needs have been met.
