Befriending Service

BSVI offers a Befriending Service for visually impaired people unable to visit the Centre. A telephone befriending service is available to anyone in the area with significant sight loss who may feel isolated. For those living in Bournemouth, BSVI Volunteers can visit Members in their own homes providing company and assistance with general everyday living.

Befrienders can help in many ways such as:

Chatting and providing companionship
Reading mail, magazines, newspapers or other documents
Writing letters, making phone calls
Accompanying them on a walk
Taking them on occasional shopping trips, if appropriate
